About
Lanark County is the county government for this part of Eastern Ontario, administered from 99 Christie Lake Road in Perth. It sits above the local municipalities — Carleton Place among them — and runs the services that cross town boundaries: roads, social services, long-term care, economic development and tourism, along with its own grants and programs for residents and community groups.
In 2026 the county backed UAFest with a community grant — the largest single grant behind this year's festival. It arrived in June, months before the day itself, which is what makes a free festival possible to plan: tents, stage, insurance and permits are all paid for long before the first visitor walks through the arch.
The county's own events calendar carries the festival as well, and county staff corrected the listing's end time when the festival asked.
