About
Ottawa Hears is a local, private and independent clinic in Kanata, led by a Doctor of Audiology. Its own site puts the whole thing in one line: a "DOCTOR OF AUDIOLOGY-LED EAR, HEARING AND TINNITUS CLINIC".
The clinic is led by Genia Kanne-Shmigol, Au.D.(C), an audiologist since 2013, who holds a Doctor of Audiology degree with honours from A.T. Still University. The practice runs by appointment and covers comprehensive ear and hearing evaluations, tinnitus assessment and solutions, hearing devices and advanced fittings, professional earwax removal, and second opinions on complex cases.
At UAFest 2026 the clinic is a sponsor — and it comes with its own equipment. A few minutes at the stand is enough to tell a person where their hearing stands; the check is free at the festival for anyone with a Health Card. The offer came from the clinic itself: it asked for the sponsor package and added the free consultations on top.
