Staples Canada

Staples Canada is the office-supply and business-services retailer that Carleton Place has on McNeely Avenue. The branch is store #318, at 555 McNeely Avenue, Carleton Place, ON K7C 0C4, and it stood behind UAFest in 2024. Its own store page sums up the shelves as office supplies, technology, furniture and Copy & Print, with paper, ink and toner, cleaning and breakroom supplies, and brands including Apple, Microsoft, HP, Canon, Epson and Dell.

Next to the shelves the branch lists its services: passport and visa photos, online notary services, computer rental stations, a furniture section, extended warranty services, online graphic design, buying online with pick up in store, and ship to store. Tech help is sold one job at a time — computer diagnostics, device set-up and configuration, quick fixes and general support, virus and malware removal. Payment is by American Express, cash, debit card, Mastercard or Visa.

The print counter has a line of its own, 613-253-3065. Staples Print describes its work as copies, documents, presentations, brochures, flyers, postcards and business cards, plus banner and graphic printing, signs, posters and engineering prints. For anyone putting on something in town, that is posters and signage made in the same town as the event.

The same counter doubles as a shipping desk: Canada Post postage stamps, DHL shipping and hold for pick up, FedEx shipping, drop off and hold at location, a Purolator authorized ship centre, full-serve packing, and digital mailbox services powered by iPostal1.

The company behind the counter is headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and describes its network as close to 300 stores across Canada together with staples.ca, Staples Print and Staples Studio co-working spaces. It partners with the MAP research centre through Even the Odds, a fundraising initiative launched in June 2021 around gaps in health equity, and it runs an annual School Supply Drive — in 2026 its twenty-first, open to 27 September, with donations taken at the checkout and, in the company's words, “one hundred per cent of donations raised remain in the communities where they are collected”. In Carleton Place the store is listed in the Chamber of Commerce directory under printing and signage retail.
