About
Storm Internet is a privately held company founded in Ottawa in 1996, and it has spent thirty years doing the thing the big carriers keep postponing: getting real internet to people who live outside town. Its network covers more than 8,000 square kilometres of the Ottawa Valley and beyond, in Ontario and Quebec, with residential wireless, DSL and WiFi service, commercial networks and fibre installations, and a residential VoIP phone service.
Support is not outsourced. Storm's sales, support and management teams sit in Ottawa, Chesterville and Perth, which means the person who answers the phone lives in the same weather as the customer.
For UAFest 2026 Storm is the barbecue sponsor, with help from the Rotary Club of Chesterville — the club lent its six-foot grill, and Storm sponsored the propane that runs it. In their own words to the festival on 12 September: "Storm Internet is pleased to be your BBQ sponsor with some help from the Chesterville Rotary Club."
