Тетяна Додонова · Tetiana Dodonova Photographer
Event & portrait photographer
“The camera is a tool that teaches people how to see the world without a camera.”
Tetiana Dodonova is a photographer in Ottawa, Ontario. Her own Instagram account describes what she shoots in four lines: portrait photography, family photography, event photography, street photography. Her Facebook profile, labelled Photographer, carries the line “The camera is a tool that teaches people how to see the world without a camera.”
She comes from Odesa and studied at Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University; her Facebook profile lists Ottawa, Ontario as where she lives now.
Much of her work is other people’s big days. In August 2026 alone she posted a family session shot among the flowering trees of the Arboretum, a training session at Karate SO Shinkyokushinkai Ottawa, and a christening. She has photographed the Professional Engineers Ontario New Members Ceremony, where new engineers receive their licences, more than once — most recently in July 2026 — and she was the photographer for the launch of Welcoming Ottawa Week 2026. In June 2026 she photographed the Last Bell celebration at the Lesya Ukrainka Ukrainian School in Ottawa — pupils in embroidered shirts around hand-painted numerals reading 2026.
In November 2025 she was nominated for the Canadian Choice Award 2026 in the Event Photographers category, calling it a surprise she had truly been hoping for. In January 2026 she announced that she had won, and the award’s Ottawa winners page for 2026 lists Tetiana Dodonova Photographer as winner in the category of Event Photographers.
The Ukrainian Festival in Lanark County has been crediting her since 2024. She was the first name in the festival’s thank-you to its photographers and videographers after the 2024 event, a festival photo published that September was captioned “Photo by a brilliant photographer Тетяна Додонова”, and her credit line still runs under the organisers’ posts in 2026.

The Professional Engineers Ontario New Members Ceremony and the launch of Welcoming Ottawa Week 2026 are both in her 2026 feed.
Outdoor sessions in Ottawa — one family shoot was timed for the Arboretum in full bloom in mid-May.
In the summer of 2026 she posted a wedding and a christening, both for friends.
Listed in her Instagram bio; her feed keeps a running strand of it — peonies at the Experimental Farm, a travelling water circus, the first block party on her own street.

The festival she photographs sits west of her, in Riverside Park, Carleton Place, in Lanark County. She shot the 2024 edition there, and the organisers have carried her photo credit on Ukrainian community posts from Carleton Place and Perth ever since.
